THE YOUNG & THE UNEMPLOYED

As my Blog Title suggests- I am kind of unemployed. Well, I just haven't found a career for the rest of my life. I work for my Dad and sell Wickless Candles but that isn't a passion. So, a couple of weeks ago I sat down and made a list with my Mom of some possible careers for me to pursue.

This is the list we came up with:

  • Cop
  • Teacher (no)
  • Bounty Hunter
  • Sales Lady at a Dept Store
  • Beautician/Stylist/Make-up Artist
  • Newspaper
  • Office Assistant
  • Permanent Mental Facility Patient
  • Bartender
  • Cook
  • House Painter
  • Dog Groomer
  • Dog Breeder
  • Wal-Mart Greeter
  • Personal Shopper
  • Truck Driver
  • Fortune Teller
  • Waitress
  • Hog Hunter
  • Private Investigator
  • Make-up artist to the dead
  • Police Sketch Artist
  • Photographer
  • Paralegal

Anything to add? I have a degree in History from Texas A&M with an English minor but I don’t know what to do with it. I taught but it didn’t work out. I live in a small town and pretty much anchored here because my mother is ill. So, I need a job that just pays the bills and I don’t hate.

Some friendly additions from my myspace friends:

  • Gypsy
  • Pro Gambler
  • "Kitten: The Bounty Hunter" - to be featured after Dog on A&E

It's hard in this economy to find a job especially if you are young and just starting out. We go to college four years just to come out inexperienced and out of work. I'm thinking about making a t-shirt that says "Hire ME!" with my resume on the back. Then turn it into a car sticker... What do you think?
